February 26, 2014 ~ 3 Months Results Are Back

The long awaited 3 month Check up of 2nd dose of treatment AND Laboratory Results are in;

After the first 3 month injection of Eligard 22.5mg to shut down my Testosterone Production  which shuts off the fuel to the cancer and spread of the Adenocarcinoma in my prostate, lymph nodes, and bones..

We wait to see if this particular treatment of Hormone Reduction Therapy (HRT) is the course that will work for me and my particular cancer.

Our goals is to see that the PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) drops below the desired high mark of 4.0 ng/mL from the reported  high of 16.2 ng/mL of my reports.

After the first 6 weeks the serum PSA was showing some progress and was reported as following on February 8, 2014;

This is so encouraging  at 4.970 ng/mL this means the fuel valve has been shut off! I still have cancer, but Jerry has been knocked out! it’s just been put to sleep as it were!!!!

OH HAPPY DAY!!!!

I so thank all who have been praying and wishing well! No one can say “Your prayers were not effective!”

This is confirmation people of the importance of early detection and treatment! ~~~and I really do not consider my detection at its earliest point because by the time we detected mine it had already spread to my lymph nodes AND bones! The earliest detection will find it all still encapsulated within the prostate gland itself before any spreading ~~~

The blessing of this particular blog has been, I have heard from several men since I have started this and they have gone in and had themselves checked and found themselves okay ~~~ and that they will continue to monitor their PSA and Prostate Examinations on a yearly basis.

I am really shocked at how many people I have talked to that have never heard of Prostate Exams or PSA,  I made up some cards; I hand these out to EVERYONE I can, I leave them at businesses, offices I visit, or pin them to notice boards ~~~ the object is not to sell anything, endorse or advertise anything or profit in any kind of way ~~~ it is simply a public service announcement

Your doctor may tell you “You do not need to start these test until you are 50 years old.”

DO NOT  accept this!!! You may not know if any men in your family, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, cousins, brothers and how far back any of them may have had to deal with prostate cancer, for one reason you may not know is; MEN DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT!

An injury to the groin in early life may have resolved itself, but it will/may come back and visit you in later years.

I would tell my physician, “Yes, I hear ya, but for the few dollars on the test, I WANT TO KNOW ANYWAYS!”

Remember, once you get it, its not something that just can be erased! I would not want to WAIT until that doctor says when we should do it, a cancer may have been growing inside you all that time. DON’T TAKE THAT CHANCE!

“Father, I am mindful of just how much You love me, I know that You do not put on us no more than what we can handle, and there is a purpose in Your Kingdom for all You do with us, I may not know or understand Your plan, but I know in time by and by You will make Your plan known to me. I thank You for the opportunity to share Your grace and blessings with all Your children who will hear, and I also understand it is not mine to interpret, or change anyone’s life, mine is just to tell,. You are the one who works with the individual to deal with their lives! Till my dying day will I give You all the glory and honor in all you set me to! Again, I thank You for caring enough about me to talk to and work with me. I humbly submit to Your Will!”

    Hi Nate. I’m Lisa Bialy’s mom, Micah Bialy’s grandmother. Lisa has talked about you, your family and your love of horses over the past few years. She loves all of you and is so very grateful for the love and concern you showed to Micah during his long battle with cancer. We, too, are grateful and thank you and your family from the bottom of our hearts. My husband, Bill, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2000. His PSA was 13.7 and his Gleeson score was 8. He was treated at the Loma Linda Proton Center, 15 proton treatments, 25 photon, and one year of HRT (one shot in the belly every three months). He experienced hot flashes, some muscle loss, and a bit of weakness. His PSA since completing treatment has been consistently 0.6 or below. We praise God for each day we have together. His mother died of breast cancer when he was 7, and, as you know, Lisa has had two bouts with breast cancer, and then our precious Micah. We want you to know that we will be praying for you and your sweet family as you take this journey. Just remember that our awesome God will be with you each step of the way and know that you are being held in His mighty hand. Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever. AMEN! Eph. 3:20.

  4. Debora Elrod says:

    We are glad that there is improvement! Your blog is an inspiration. God does do wonderful works!

    As a side note we wanted to share some of our experience with his prostate cancer. He was diagnosed because his doctor felt a change in his prostate. His PSA was less than 2 but the biopsy showed a Gleson Scale of 10 in all of the samples. His PSA never went over 2 but his cancer had spread before we found it. His doctor said that not all prostate cancers produce an elevated PSA. It is very important to have the exam too!

    You remain in our prayers and we look forward to meeting you at the shows.

  5. Michelle Platt says:

    You have been heavy on my heart ever since your announcement, actually since I was able to meet you, your wife and part of your family. I still feel the blessing of that day now. I will continue to pray as I’m a cancer survivor myself, by the power of God.

  8. Judy And Roger says:
